About

My interest in programming and software development began in 2015 when I took my first computational physics course at San Jose State University. I fell in love with using Python to model and simulate physical events and phenomena. After I left SJSU I began to explore programming and computer science further by taking courses in C++, Java, Visual Basic, DS&A and computer architecture at Los Angeles Valley College. Later on at App Academy I accelerated my learning and fine-tuned my understanding of programming and computer science fundamentals and picked up some new skills along the way. Most recently I've used JavaScript and Python in conjunction with other technologies, libraries and frameworks like React / Redux, Node.js, Express, Flask and PostgreSQL to build responsive, feature-rich full stack applications.

Ever since I was little I was always that kid who asked, “why?” I also really liked to show everyone my homework. Well, that hasn’t changed. My background in STEM has really helped me develop that natural curiosity to dig deeper so that I can understand and explore new and existing technologies and frameworks. And I still really enjoy showing people what I’m working on.

As a software engineer I’m skilled with JavaScript and Python and am comfortable working with databases and ORMs. I’ve also been able to leverage my background studying physics to approach every project with strong analytical skills and a keen ability to solve difficult complex problems.

While being capable of working individually to produce practical solutions, I’ve found that teamwork and collaboration also help make me a better developer. By actively participating during daily standups, pair-programming on complex issues, and working as a team to debug and fix errors I’ve learned and refined so much more than I could have just on my own.
